Dexter

If GetGlue stats are any indication, you were probably sitting in front of your TV last night. We saw a huge amount of activity across the large number of premieres, with a record-breaking season two opener for ABC’s Once Upon a Time.

Trendrr.tv
In the chart above, total activity accounts for all GetGlue activities, including check-ins, comments, likes, and more. The percentage change marks growth from last season’s premiere.

Once Upon a Time

ABC was the night’s big winner with three huge premieres. After Forbes documented the show’s domination in its first season, GetGlue chart topper Once Upon a Time had a fairy-tale victory with almost 94,000 activities yesterday according to Trendrr.tv. This is a 30% jump over the first season finale’s stats and more than three times its season one premiere numbers. In just the hours surrounding its 8/7c air time, the show got more than 86,000 in activity, a GetGlue record for a broadcast premiere!

Revenge

At 9/8c, juicy drama Revenge also had you talking with more than 50,000 activities on GetGlue, and it didn’t lose any steam in its move from Wednesday night to Sunday night between seasons. It had 50% more activity than its May finale and almost five times what we saw for its series premiere a year ago. Spooky newcomer 666 Park Avenue also scared up 48,000 check-ins, comments, and more.

Dexter

After racking up multiple wins at the Emmys last week, Showtime also reigned over the cable world yesterday. Dexter was tops with almost 71,000 activities with GetGlue users excited for the season seven premiere and tuning in to see what would happen after Deb’s dramatic discovery. This represents a huge bump from its season six premiere, bringing in more than three times the activity.

Homeland

Meanwhile, Emmy-winning drama Homeland started its sophomore season off strong with 35,000 activities, bringing in huge year-over-year growth with four times the numbers of its season one premiere. The buzz continues to build. Are you watching yet?

FOX

It wasn’t all serious fare racking up the numbers on GetGlue last night. FOX’s slate of Animation Domination premieres had you checking-in and chatting (and quoting the lines that had you laughing). The Simpsons gathered over 34,000 check-ins, comments, etc. on their return trip to NYC, and Family Guy wasn’t far behind with almost 31,000 in GetGlue activity. These numbers are six times what the shows saw for their premieres last year. American Dad had 22,000 activities yesterday, while Bob’s Burgers stacked up 18,000 in check-ins and more.

What shows did you watch last night? What remaining premieres have you counting down to air time? Be sure to like GetGlue on Facebook and follow GetGlue on Twitter for all our big news.

Last year, we partnered with Showtime for awesome stickers for their shows, and it was a huge success. Dexter, their #1 show, was consistently at the top of our popular list, killing the competition with more than 100K check-ins. For 2011, we have stickers for all major Showtime shows, but we also have new rewards: a select number of Season Fans can win DVDs just for checking-in through our apps or our website!

getglue-showtime

We’ll be kicking off these rewards for the January shows Californication, Episodes, and Shameless, as well as bring-’em-back-now favorites  Dexter, Weeds, Nurse Jackie, United States of Tara, and The Big C when they make their triumphant returns later this year. We’ll also have DVDs to give away for the anticipated new drama The Borgias. At the end of each show’s season, 10 Season Fans and 10 Season Super Fans will win a free DVD set of the entire season. Please note that this giveaway is for US-based users only.

Our new Season Fan and Superfan stickers reward the devoted viewers who tune in each week when their shows air live. To become a Season Fan and Superfan (and score a chance to win DVDs):

- Check-in live into 5 or more episodes to become a Season Fan
- Check-in live to 10 or more episodes to become a Season Superfan

Showtime boasts its Biggest.Sunday.Ever. on January 9, and you’ll have your first chance to start earning the Season Fan and Superfan stickers with the premieres of Californication, Episodes, and Shameless. The fun starts at 9pm with the return of Californication, followed by the series premieres of the new edgy comedies Episodes and Shameless. Remember to check-in when your shows air to earn these special stickers.

GetGlue and our partners are coming up with more new ways to award fans all the time. Make sure you follow @GetGlue on Twitter for all the latest news.

Now, we don’t want to compare ourselves to Dexter (the man is a serial killer after all), but we, too, have our obsessions. Making sure we don’t miss a single episode when it airs is one of them, as is earning each of our Dexter stickers at GetGlue. Our latest set of Dexter stickers allows us to indulge our two obsessions, as well as one of Dexter’s: solving mysteries.

As we hinted a few weeks ago, when you earn our new episode stickers for checking-in during specific episodes (like the Deb one above from episode three), you can get a Bonus Sticker Clue that encourages you to check-in again with the answer to the mystery posed in the clue. With a correct answer, you’ll have earned the Bonus Sticker.

There are multiple stickers (and multiple clues), so keep checking-in when Dexter airs on Showtime on Sundays for a chance to earn them. Our lips are sealed on which episodes can earn stickers, so be sure to tune in–and check-in–each week. You can check-in through our apps or our website to get the stickers and connect with your fellow fans.

Two last things: promise us you won’t follow in Dexter’s footsteps, and remember to follow us on Twitter @GetGlue to make sure you never miss sticker news.

If you’re anything like we are, modern conveniences like On Demand and DVR just don’t work with Dexter. We want to know what happens with our favorite serial killer, and we want to know now, which is why our next set of stickers rewards the true fan who watches the show regularly on Sunday nights when it airs on Showtime.

We already have a great set of stickers for the show (keep checking-in to earn Fan and Superfan status), but these new stickers are attached to specific episodes this season. For example, if you check-in to the show during a certain episode via our apps or our website, you’ll have your very own Masuka sticker. Checking-in during another real-time airing will earn you a silent version of potty-mouthed Detective Deb Morgan, while a check-in during another episode will unlock a Harry sticker.

Our lips are sealed on which episodes will unlock which stickers (not even Dexter could make us talk!), but there’s one more hint we’d like to give. Be sure to look closely when you earn one of these stickers; if you’ve got a detective’s brain, you might be able to earn another sticker. Make Dexter proud.

Be sure to follow @GetGlue on Twitter for all the latest on stickers and other exciting GetGlue news. Check-in to Dexter via our apps or our website to keep earning cool stickers.

Dexter may be a gripping, gritty drama with a fascinating anti-hero at its heart, but it’s also a mystery. Before Dexter enacts his own unique brand of justice, he must first figure out who is his deserving target. The Showtime series is edgy and mysterious, and it’s only fitting that our stickers for the show follow suit.

As we hinted last week when you earn our new episode stickers (like the Deb one above) for checking-in during specific episodes, you can get a Bonus Sticker Clue that encourages you to check-in again with the answer to the mystery posed in the clue. With a correct answer, you’ll have earned the Bonus Sticker.

If you only like your TV heroes in the saving-cats-from-trees, do-gooder mold, then you best turn away now. But for those who like following more complex characters, there’s no better show than Dexter and its titular antihero. There’s no black and white in Showtime’s dark drama; just lots of grays–and reds.

We launched our iPhone app with a series of stickers for Dexter and other Showtime hits, and we’re proud to announce an exclusive, limited-time-only sticker for Sunday evening’s premiere of Dexter’s fifth season. Be sure to check-in during the premiere for this special sticker from Showtime.

Though we love on-demand offerings and DVRing shows, don’t forget to watch Dexter when it premieres in your time zone to earn the sticker. And seriously, with season four’s jaw dropper of a finale, how can you bear to wait even an hour to see what happens next? Be sure to keep checking-in to the show to earn the rest of our awesome stickers for Dexter.
