The much anticipated final chapter of the Harry Potter saga is sweeping the Box Office this weekend. Fans are happy to reunite with Harry and his friends, but are sad that the journey is coming to an end.
Here at GetGlue we’ve been following the responses to the movie and are seeing that it has broken all the records not only at the Box Office but also on GetGlue. Before this Sunday ends we are going to see over 130,000 checkins - a new record for any movie on GetGlue. To compare, The Hangover Part 2 posted 84,000 checkins to date.
Beyond check-ins, the last Harry Potter movie has posted a staggering amount of ratings on GetGlue. Over 46,000 people LIKED Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2:
Remarkably, this number is significantly higher than the number of ratings on other top movie sites like IMDB, Fandango and Yahoo! Movies. As of time of this post, over 26,000 people rated this movie on IMDB:
Fandango currently has 15,000 Facebook Likes and 2,500 reviews. Yahoo! Movies is currently at 1,500 reviews and ratings. Facebook is currently showing nearly 5,000 Likes for this movie:
Lastly, the site the only site that has significantly more ratings than GetGlue is Flixster. Currently at 155,000 native ratings and slightly over 15,000 Facebook Likes:
